When we were planning our renovations, we made a list of all the features we love in our favourite places to stay, then added more! Whether you’re away for a work stopover, meeting up for a celebration or engagement, family adventures or a break with friends, you want somewhere that’s comfortable, welcoming and quickly feels like home from home. Easy to find the lights, responsively warm or cool throughout, good wifi connectivity, a fully-equipped kitchen and bathrooms, roomy, comfortable beds and sofas- and that’s just the start.

Whether you pick one of our two cosy one-bedroom studio apartments, or our roomy 2-bedroom family or group apartments, you’ll find the same, consistently high standards of quality, thoughtfulness and comfort throughout. While each proudly reflects a different character of this historic building, all revel in soft, warm carpets and fabrics, responsive heating, top-rated double-glazing, adjustable lighting and lamps and beautiful, fresh decoration, flatscreen TVs and thoughtful touches.

Whether compact or spacious, each apartment includes sinkable sofas, decent dining tables, enough room (and chairs!) for everyone to eat together. Our fully-equipped bespoke kitchens include top-spec appliances: coffee maker, kettle, toaster, microwave and convection hob, plus full oven and dishwasher in our two-bedroom apartments The Hideaway and The Loft. In every apartment you’ll enjoy our thoughtful welcome pack of tea and coffee, Kendal Mint Cake and Pipers crisps.

Who doesn’t want a kings-size bed to fall into? So that’s what every apartment has, with twin second bedrooms (and a double bedroom in the Loft) as applicable. Every bedroom has its own ensuite contemporary shower room, with nearly all featuring double-size rainfall showers, full-height heated towel rails, thick, fluffy towels and Bath House toiletries.

    The accommodation was spotless. It had all we needed, including a kettle (essential!), coffee machine, toaster, microwave and a hob. The bathroom was spacious, the shower perfect. The hand wash and shower gel/shampoo are from a local company and were really nice! The bed was comfortable and we slept well.

    It's ideally placed for exploring the Lakes and North Yorkshire. Milnthorpe is small but has a nice pub, a supermarket and a great coffee shop (Rivers and Roads). The owners communicated well and were really friendly.

    I stayed in late October 2024 for five nights and it was a perfect place for me to have as a base in the area. Although I was a single traveller I can see it working just as well for a couple. The unit has been updated to a high level of comfort and convenience. The owner was great to work with, she responded quickly when I asked about the heating system and in was in general very helpful. I would certainly stay here again.
